Field Training Directors - Summer 25 Fairfax, VA

Welcome to the Skyhawks team! If you are a returning staff member, welcome back!

The Skyhawks Field Training is required for all new Coach and Director staff. If you are a returner, you should plan to register as well, but feel free to check with your manager. During this event, your field trainer(s) and veteran peers will take you through an exciting session that includes, but is not limited to:

• Overview of field setup, gate system and safety check
• Demo of staff introductions and an enthusiastic start to the program
• Whole-Part-Whole Instruction and conducting drills/game for at least 4 sports
• Camp Game demos
• Specialty sports training
• Wrap-up and Q&A
• Staff uniform handouts

You should expect a mix of talks from trainers, demos, instruction practice and game play. Come prepared to listen, learn and actively participate. The Field Training is your best opportunity to get comfortable with the Skyhawks program environment and practice teaching skills before taking the field and running real programs. This will be an active day, so dress in appropriate athletic attire and footwear. Make it a point to connect with your fellow staff and commit to helping build a solid foundation for this amazing coaching team. We look forward to seeing you on the field!

*Dress in comfortable, but appropriate athletic attire. Do not wear jeans. We recommend shorts or athletic pants and a comfortable t-shirt.

*Be sure to bring a wind breaker or jacket if cooler weather is expected

*Wear comfortable athletic footwear. You will be running around and actively participating the majority of the event.
